ARTIST STATEMENT
Color relationships often inform my work as well as the unseen tether between seemingly unconnected things. My work also shifts between representation and color blocked fields referencing something like a half-remembered daydream. Formally, I am drawn to bright contrasting colors that are influenced by ocular color theory, or how the eyes physically perceive color when information is lacking or delayed. Think of when you stand up too fast, or rub your eyes for too long - it is those star colors locked in the eyes that find their way into my work. Ultimately, I seek to further delve into the ancient relationship that humans have with their environment and how that informs our current lives.
